Mission Accomplished

If you read Clean & Crisp that I posted a week ago or have recently heard my rant about White Pillows then you know this is an accomplishment! I now know the inventory of pretty much every home store here in Birmingham since I've been everywhere - twice. I decided to go back to Tuesday Morning to pick up these fresh, white pillows that I had seen early in my search. Thank you to all my friends who offered suggestions, help, seamstresses, etc. )

 Feel free to ask me if you are in need of any spring home items!

I'm pretty much an expert now!

Clean, Crispness

I'm dying to have these white pillows....ahhhh! If you've spoken to me in the last few days then you know I've been on a mission (mission impossible) to locate some big, white, fluffy pillows for my couch! Spring is probably one of my favorite times of the year--I LOVE updating my home, wardobe and shoe collection with a pop of color. This Spring however, I'm thinking crisp, white pillows would add a cleanliness to our living room. I've been on the hunt for white pillows! Who would have thought they'd be incredibly HARD to find here in this big city of Birmingham???

Why white?? It's so practical, comforting, crisp, clean & refreshing. My dream home would incorporate a bunch of rumpled old linens and chipped paint gussied up by crystal chandeliers and fresh flowers.

QUICK TIPS:

Machine-wash linens on "warm." For white linen, use an oxygen-based bleach rather than chlorine, which can cause yellowing.

Remove linen items from the dryer while they are still damp, then finish drying on clothesline; overdrying can cause linen to become brittle.

Iron linen while it's still damp. Or, store damp items in a plastic bag in the refrigerator to prevent mildew and make pressing easier.

Christmas w/ The Comer Fam!

Merry Christmas from The Comer Family

It's def Christmas time...did anyone else feel like they had the department stores decorated earlier this year than normal? Or am I just getting OLD!? HA!

Paul and I look forward to this special time each year and I'm ALWAYS ready to re-decorate my house and bake yummy goodies.

I've already mentioned that I LOVE Christmas so  I wanted to share a few of my fav photos with you!

This is my kitchen table decor-Red snowflake candles, Target.com

The 2010 Comer Christmas Tree at the new crib! It was a bit of a struggle to find the "right" spot but we found a perfect spot in the living room for us to enjoy! Next year we will be adding a tall, skinny tree for the dining room. :)

I wish this pic would get me warm just looking at it. :) I'm freeeezzzing!

Lollie, my lil elf!

Another one of my sweet baby! {Weebles is still alive just in need of a cute hair do}

A new piece to my collection {notice the ornaments are a nativity}

A few of my Carolers {the rest are in the dining room} and a nativity my parents brought us back from Guatemala this past April.

More Carolers and an Angel painting I painted!

More Carolers! :) {Still not the dining room collection, they are the best}

A beautiful Santa! Isn't he a gorgeous Santa?

Merry Christmas!

Please don't leave us off your Christmas card list this year. :) Leave a comment or email me for our new address!

We are Moved!

The Comer Family has officially moved, hosted a baby shower & is getting settled day by day! Although Paul still has a list of things to do, we are settled. :) The main things left are all upstairs anyways! More importantly, my wireless is up and running and I'm typing from my couch while hanging out w/Lollie & Weebs in my living room! Wahoo!

The final product! Built on a lot of LOVE!

I love GRAY!
Gray is a neutral, balanced color- It's a cool & conservative color that seldom evokes strong emotion.

I'm most proud of my kitchen! It's EXACTLY the way I envisioned it!

The cabinets are probably my fav thing about the house! I had envisioned this color since day one and thanks to many magazines, paint samples and Ann with Counter Dimensions I accomplished my goal = a Gray Kitchen! I chose Cashmere White granite to go along with the cabinets and most importantly to create a clean, simple look. To add an authentic vintage look to the home I chose White Subway Tile as the backsplash in the kitchen and hexagon white tile on the floors in the bathrooms.

The appliances- Monocromatic Stainless Steel Kitchen Aid refridgerator,  Silent Kitchen Aid dishwasher, Kitchen Aid microwave, Kitchen Aid gas cooktop and Kitchen Aid Single Convection oven.

Master Bathroom aka "My Sanctuary"

I hope the wait was well worth it! Enjoy!
If you have any questions please comment and I'll respond! :)

Great find!

As some of you know we have officially reached SINGLE DIGITS! We are 8 days away from closing on our new house! (I have some updating to do on the house) :)

I've been on a treacherous hunt to find curtains for my dining room the past few weeks! I need something with a lining since the sun bears down on the front of the house. I also have to find something reasonably priced since my window is 120 x 108!!! OUCH! I've mentioned At Home (located in Homewood) several times--my fav place to shop for home goods i.e. curtains, candles, aprons, light fixtures and gifts. They always have a great selection but in this case it's going to be too expensive.

Here's some I REALLY like!

n-e-ways

Today I ran across a website with some GREAT prices! I want to share this link with you guys if you are interested in Linen products! The customer service people were super! They are sending me some samples so I'll let you know how it ends up!

GOOD LUCK!
